Expansion plan for nylon additive at Clariant site in China

Chemicals group Clariant is expanding its production site at Cangzhou in Hebei province in China.
Specifically, Clariant wants to expand its production of the multifunctional additive Nylostab S-EED.

It will run a second production line at the site in a joint expansion project with its local partner, Beijing Tiangang Auxiliary. Representatives of both companies took part in a  commencement ceremony in Cangzhou on December 16.

Clariant describes its Nylostab S-EED additive as being highly compatible with nylon. Its process stability at high temperatures results in less filament breakage during spinning processes and enhances productivity by reducing cycle time for injection moulding processes, the company said.

Its head of operations and supply chain additives, Sandra Schneider, said there were application areas for the product across the core nylon value chain, which she said is seeing “a surge in capacity expansion and demand, particularly from the textile and plastics industry in China”.
