Performance materials developer Teijin Frontier has won recognition from the province of Jiangsu in China for its commitment to sustainability.

One part of the group, Nantong Teijin, which manufactures polyester long-fibre woven and knitted fabrics in Jiangsu province, has reduced its water usage by approximately 300,000 tonnes per year.

The company has developed its own equipment and systems for analysing, recovering, storing and reusing wastewater from its dyeing process. It put these innovations in place in 2022.

Its success has led to official recognition from the Jiangsu department of ecology and environment, which has declared Nantong Teijin to be a company that promotes environmental initiatives in the Yangtze River Delta region.
