March date for Australian Cotton open day
Cotton Australia has announced an open day in March at a cotton farm in Queensland.
The event will take place on March 5 at Clyde, near Dirranbandi, about 550 kilometres west of Brisbane. It will be hosted by farmer Scott Balsillie and his family.
Mr Balsillie was named as Australia’s cotton grower of the year in 2024. Cotton Australia has a custom of asking the winner of this accolade to host an industry open day.
For the 2025 open day, the agenda will include a farm tour, panel discussions, and various speaker sessions focusing on what Cotton Australia has called “vital information for the industry”. Topics these sessions will cover will include new technology, workforce issues, environmental, social and governance issues and the global market trends for Australian cotton.
