AAFA warns that additional US tariffs will be a ‘crushing burden’

The American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) has issued a statement in response to the imposition by the US of additional tariffs of 25% on virtually all imports from Canada and Mexico, and additional tariffs of 10% on all US imports from China.
In the statement, AAFA warned that these additional tariffs, which came into force on March 4, could “snowball into a growing, and potentially crushing, burden” on business and consumers in the US.
It said apparel and footwear support 3.5 million jobs in the US.
