Intertextile Shanghai closed its spring 2025 edition on March 13 after three days.

Organiser Messe Frankfurt said there were initial signs that the event had been a success. Managing director of its Hong Kong division, Wendy Wen, said that, following the disruption to international business that covid-19 had caused, she had become more convinced than ever of the importance of in-person events.

“Physical trade fairs are irreplaceable,” she said, “especially for an industry like textiles. Meeting people face to face, and seeing and touching their products are things that cannot happen in the same way digitally.”
