Research body promises to support industry’s search for PFAS alternatives
Textile and clothing research body l’Institut Français du Textile et de l’Habillement (IFTH) has said it will support the industry as it strives to respond to new per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) requirements.
In February, France’s National Assembly passed a law banning the use of PFAS in textiles, clothing and footwear from 2026.
IFTH said it would help companies interpret the rules correctly, and that it would support research projects that aim to find viable alternatives to PFAS.
