Leadership changes at Nike
President of the consumer, product and brand parts of Nike’s business, Heidi O’Neill, has announced her retirement. She will stay with the company in an advisory capacity for now and leave in September.
The sports footwear and apparel group has announced a series of new appointments to its leadership team, dividing up the role that Ms O’Neill fulfilled.
Vice-president for women’s products, Amy Montagne, has been named as company president, with responsibility for serving consumers across all sports and driving future growth, Nike said.
Footwear vice-president, Phil McCartney, has been promoted to the post of chief innovation, design and product officer for the group and will focus, Nike said, on “the creation of innovative and coveted product, season-after-season”.
Nicole Graham will continue as the group’s chief marketing officer, a role she has held since 2023, but in the new round of leadership changes, Nike has also made her an executive vice-president.
Company veteran Dr Thomas Clarke, who has most recently served as a strategic advisor to chief executive, Elliott Hill, will now become chief growth initiatives officer. In this role, Dr Clarke will be responsible for identifying opportunities inside and outside the business that will help Nike “connect more deeply with consumers and drive incremental growth for our portfolio of brands”.
