Italian partner to start making Cirql midsoles and outsoles
Open-cell foam technology developer Cirql has announced a new strategic agreement with soling materials producer Frasson.
Italy-based Frasson specialises in supercritical foaming and injection moulding for footwear components.
Cirql said this new partnership would solidify its presence in Europe and will allow it to supply European footwear brands with “cutting-edge recycled polymer technology for high-performance midsoles and outsoles”.
As a result, Cirql’s recycled polymer (rTPU) will become more accessible for European customers to use in their products. Frasson will now be a key supplier and development partner. It has invested in machinery that will allow it to manufacture Cirql midsoles and outsoles.
“This partnership is a significant milestone for Cirql as we expand into the European market,” said general manager, Matt Thwaites. “Frasson’s expertise in supercritical foaming and injection moulding complements our vision of providing sustainable and innovative materials to global footwear brands.”
His counterpart at the partner company, Alberto Frasson, said the Italian company was “always looking for the best technologies” to offer its customers. “We were the first in Italy to purchase this type of machine to investigate this new material,” he said.
