Sports group Decathlon has opened its ninth Paris store. Its latest offering comes under its compact Decathlon City format, occupying one floor of a store that domestic appliance retailer Boulanger runs on the Rue de Rennes, near the Boulevard du Montparnasse.

Decathlon said it wanted to set up a location in the heart of Paris that residents, commuters and visitors would be able to use to enhance their levels of exercise.

The company said its aim was to help everyone take part in some form of sport or exercise, without having to travel far from home.
