Japanese fibre producer Asahi Kasei has appointed Junshu Furusawa as the new chief executive of its business in Italy, replacing Koji Hamada, who has returned to Japan to take up a new role in the company there.

Mr Furusawa has worked at Bemberg, a division of Asahi Kasei, for nearly 20 years, spending the last four of these in Italy.

The company said on confirming his appointment that he would bring “renewed energy” to its operations in Italy.

“His commitment to transparent communication and partner engagement will continue to drive Bemberg’s growth across the European fashion and textile industry,” it said.
