Clothing brand claims a share of Ryder Cup success

Clothing brand Loro Piana has celebrated its contribution to Europe’s success in the 2025 Ryder Cup, which took place on Long Island, New York, at the end of September.

Europe’s golfers retained the trophy, beating their opponents from the US by 15 points to 13. The competition takes place every two years, alternating between venues on both sides of the Atlantic

Loro Piana supplied clothing for the players to wear on the three days of this year’s event. The collection included the Eagle polo in what the Italian brand called “an innovative stretch fabric with excellent breathability”. There was also a sleeveless V-neck jumper, made from what the brand referred to as “high-finesse wool”.

The players wore Lawry trousers, which Loro Piana made from proprietary fabric it calls  Techno Wool Bistretch Rain. The brand said this material offered freedom of movement and quick-drying properties.

Europe’s captain, Luke Donald, was involved from the outset in the design and development of the uniforms. He said: “The quality of Loro Piano’s fabrics, its specialist design and production knowledge, and attention to detail have made the brand the ideal clothing partner.”
