Wool trading company British Wool has celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2025.

In the course of the year, it held open days at various wool depots in different parts of the UK, allowing visitors to watch wool sorters in action.

The Bradford-based organisation has calculated that since its launch in 1950, sheep in the UK had produced more than 2.5 billion kilos of fleece, which it said was enough to make nearly 13 billion pairs of socks.
