Cotton boost for the US

07/01/2026

The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has increased its estimate for domestic cotton production for the 2025-2026 season.

Its December update gave an estimate of just over 14.25 million bales, an increase of 1% compared to the estimate USDA gave in November.

It said the increase was largely because of crops producing higher-than-expected yields in the Mississippi Delta and south-eastern regions.
