Winning start for new Coco Gauff collection
Sports brand New Balance has said it will make new kit it has designed with, and made for, tennis star Coco Gauff available for the public to buy.
Ms Gauff worked with the brand to design a new clothing collection for the 2026 Australian Open, the first Grand Slam tournament of the year. The tournament runs in Melbourne from January 18 to February 1.
The collection comprises a perforated stretch tank and a pleated skirt for wearing on court, an oversized colour-blocked tracksuit for walking onto court, a cropped tee and shorts for practice, plus new colour combinations for CG2 and Coco Delray shoes.
New Balance said the collection “captures the poetry of movement and the spirit of the Australian summer”. It added that making a customised collection like this available for the public to buy would give fans the opportunity to “share in the magic of Melbourne”.
Ms Gauff, the number-three seed in the women’s singles, wore the new kit for the first time on January 19 in her first-round match against Kamilla Rakhimova, winning 6-2 6-3.
