Long-term higher costs have to be passed on now, Rieter says

Spinning technology group Rieter has warned customers that its prices will be going up in March.

In a statement, the Switzerland-based group said the global political and economic environment means raw material and energy costs have been rising “for some time”.

It said its textile machinery and components consist to a large extent of steel, copper, aluminium and electronics. These materials in particular have seen higher demand and higher prices in recent months, it explained, but added that it had refrained from passing the additional costs on to customers until now.

“Since the price trend is proving to be long-term,” Rieter concluded, “the company will adjust its prices from March 2026.”
