New role for outgoing Lululemon CEO
The outgoing chief executive of activewear brand Lululemon, Calvin McDonald, has announced that he will join beauty brand Wella as its new chief executive. He will move to New York to take up his new role on April 2.
Lululemon announced in December that Mr McDonald was stepping down, but said he would remain as an adviser to the Vancouver-based company until April. He joined it in 2018 and in his time leading the company its annual revenues tripled.
Recently, however, Lululemon’s founder, Chip Wilson, became publicly critical of the running of the clothing brand. Mr Wilson is still the company’s second-largest shareholder.
