Imbotex pushes for circularity & natural fibres
At Performance Days, which opens tomorrow in Munich, Italian insulation specialist Imbotex is presenting a series of new developments in its key focus areas of natural fibres and circular solutions.

Alpaca Reborn is a range of paddings made from Alpaca wool noils. These are the fine yet short fibres that are combed out of wool before spinning. Imbotex integrates these, formerly considered waste, into a super soft, high-performance insulation.

To address growing demand for performance textiles made from natural fibres, the company based in Cittadella, near Padua, is introducing a new washable wool insulation. “Historically, wool’s main limitation has been its delicate care requirements, as it is prone to felting during washing. Not anymore. We have developed a unique, chlorine-free treatment that significantly enhances washing performance and dimensional stability,” a spokesperson said. In tests, the insulation was found to remain “perfectly stable” when washed at 40°C followed by gentle tumble drying.
