Athletic footwear retailer Footasylum has appointed Hannah Mercer as CEO.

She joins from Gymshark, where she served as general manager of wholesale, retail and franchise.

Before this, she spent more than six years at adidas, holding a series of vice-president roles across retail operations.

Previous CEO David Pujolar left in February. 

Footasylum was founded in 2005 and is headquartered in Rochdale. It employs around 2,500 staff across the UK and was acquired by German investment company in Aurelius in August 2022. 

Its YouTube (2.9m subscribers) and TikTok (2.3m followers) content is facilitated by a creative team of 40 based in Manchester.
