Design system from Shima Seiki supports ‘the creative side’ of fashion
Flat-knitting technology developer Shima Seiki is to take part in the 2026 edition of the Simatex textile machinery exhibition, which will run in Buenos Aires from June 2-4.
The Japanese technology provider said it would exhibit a wide range of products at the event, including its Mach 2VS whole-garment knitting machines in different gauges.
It will also have on display its SDS-One Apex4 design system. This system, Shima Seiki said in the build-up to the Buenos Aires event, supports “the creative side of fashion”, from planning and design to textile simulation and 3D virtual sampling of products.
Resulting virtual samples are “accurate enough to be used effectively as prototypes”, the company said, replacing physical sampling and consequently reducing time, cost and material waste.
