Leadership changes at Desma

01/06/2026

Footwear technology developer Desma has announced that sales director, Marten Beiersdorf, is to take up the roles of managing director, chief sales and chief technology officer. Mr Beiersdorf has worked at Desma in various roles for more than 20 years. He became sales director in 2016.

The company has undergone substantial change in its leadership team.

Chief executive Christian Decker left in April. Klaus Freese, who had been co-chief executive with Mr Decker, is now Desma’s chief operating officer. The company has referred to Narith Meksavanh as its chief executive now.

Mr Meksavanh is chief executive of Franco-German industrial group NMP, which acquired Desma from previous owner Salzgitter last year. NMP Group develops machinery for processing soft materials.
