The latest forecast for global raw cotton production for the 2026-2027 season from specialist information resource Cotton Outlook (Cotlook) was 25.4 million tonnes. This is 79,000 tonnes more than its previous forecast. 

Cotlook said additions for the US and Turkey were partially offset by a reduction for Pakistan. 

Its estimate for consumption was 26.1 million tonnes, up by 218,000 tonnes. It attributed this to higher estimates for Bangladesh, Vietnam and India. 

The result would be a reduction of global stocks by the end of the next marketing year of 657,000 tonnes.
