Sports group Nike recently hosted UK-born designer Paul Smith at its headquarters in Oregon.  

A sports enthusiast and a particularly passionate fan of cycling, Mr Smith has previously designed jerseys for the Tour de France and for the Giro d’Italia. 

In 2016, he published a book with the title ‘You Can Find Inspiration in Everything’ and mentioned many of the experiences he relates in the book at his recent talk. 

Nike’s chief innovation officer, Phil McCartney, said afterwards that the talk had offered him and his colleagues “a strong reminder to think differently, look beyond the obvious and continue pushing how we think as creators”.
