ASICS is to spin off its Onitsuka Tiger brand

Japan-based group ASICS has announced that it will spin off its Onitsuka Tiger brand. The split will happen on January 1, 2027. 

ASICS explained that the Onitsuka Tiger business has experienced “accelerated global growth” in recent years, driven by an expanded geographic footprint and increased brand recognition. 

It said that the change it proposes to make will allow Onitsuka Tiger to have “a more independent operating structure”. 

It will move the Onitsuka Tiger part of its business to a new wholly owned subsidiary called OT Group Corporation.
