Swedish company New Wave Group has announced the acquisition of sports clothing, accessories and equipment developer Uhlsport. 

Germany-based Uhlsport specialises in products for handball and football with gloves for goalkeepers among its best known products. Its products sell under the Uhlsport and Kempa brands. 

New Wave said it expected to close the deal at the start of October and said it would confirm the financial details in November. 

Chief executive and founder of New Wave Group, Torsten Jansson, said: “This is a very exciting acquisition. Uhlsport and Kempa are respected brands in football and handball, with a long history and strong relationships with clubs and national teams across the globe.”
