Swedish textile machinery developer Eltex has developed a new system called ACT-Multi that it has said will bring individual yarn tension monitoring and automatic control to the heat-setting process. 

It said the new system would help manufacturers maintain consistent processing conditions across every yarn position. 

Eltex explained that heat-setting relies on precise and consistent processing conditions to stabilise yarn structures, lock in twist and bulk, and ensure predictable performance during subsequent processes such as dyeing and finishing. 

The ACT-Multi system addresses this challenge by monitoring and automatically controlling yarn tension on the input side of the heat-setting machine tunnel.
