Serious materials consideration goes into Nike running apparel collection
Sports group Nike has launched a new collection of running apparel, calling it the NikeLab Running collection.
The company said its new collection brought together “performance innovation, refined materials and modern style”, and had been built “from athlete insights”.
It features tops, bottoms and outerwear for women and men. Nike said it had carefully considered the material mix of each piece to offer “distraction-free layering, weather-ready outerwear and thoughtful storage”.
The women’s offering includes wool-blend tops that balance breathability, insulation and versatility. There are also shorts, leggings, vests and outerwear.
For men, lightweight woven jackets and pants combine stretch and comfort.
“The most interesting challenge was not designing for a single run, it was designing for everything that surrounds it,” said Nike’s director for women’s running apparel, Sarah Gardner. “The commute to your favourite running path, the weather that changes halfway through a workout, the extra layer you may or may not need. We wanted every piece to feel considered, purposeful and ready for whatever the day brings.”
