Cotton: estimates down for production and up for consumption

Cotton information source Cotlook has said it now estimates raw cotton output for the 2026-2027 season at just over 25 million tonnes.  

This is lower than earlier estimates; Cotlook attributed this to a lower estimate for the US. 

Its prediction for consumption for 2026-2027 is now almost 26.5 million tonnes, up slightly on previous estimates because of a projection of higher consumption in India.
