Resilient performance from JD Sports amid cost-of-living pressures
Athletic footwear and apparel group JD Sports has reported revenues of just under £5.9 billion for the first six months of its current financial year, the period ending August 1, 2026.
This figure was slightly down, by 0.7%, on the same period a year earlier.
Chief executive, Régis Schultz, said the group had been able to demonstrate a resilient performance against “a challenging background of consumer cost-of-living pressures, footwear product cycle headwinds and a highly promotional market”.
He said JD Sports was broadening its “product proposition” and that apparel and accessories now accounted for a combined 36% of all revenues.
This means footwear now accounts for 64% of group sales. On the subject of footwear, Mr Schultz said there had been strong momentum in performance-based running and newer styles.
