Insulation provider ‘thrilled’ to partner with Patagonia

Thermal insulation materials developer Thermore has annoucned a new partnersip with Patagonia. The outdoor brand will use Thermore’s Evodown insulation in its Heyes Peak collection.

This new collection has five styles each for women and men. Designed for what Patagonia calls “mixed-weather adaptability”, each style has Evodown insulation.

This material, Thermore has explained, offers “reliable, breathable warmth and softness without the bulk”.

For example, the Heyes Peak Jacket pairs 80 grammes per square-metre Evodown with a durable shell made from 100% post-consumer recycled nylon ripstop. The nylon comes from recovered fishing nets, helping to reduce ocean pollution, Patagonia has said.

Thermore’s senior vice-president for marketing and communications, Laura Beachy, said the company was “thrilled to partner with Patagonia” on the collection.

She commented: “This launch reflects exactly what we set out to do: prove that high-performance insulation and genuine environmental responsibility are not a trade-off. Evodown gives Patagonia a fill that meets its sustainability standards across five styles without compromising on warmth or comfort. That’s the kind of partnership we are proud to stand behind.”

Sales director, Joe DiGirolamo, described Patagonia as a brand that holds itself and its supply chain partners to “a high bar on sustainability”. To be chosen as its insulation partner for the Heyes Peak collection was a tribute to Thermore, he said.
