Cycling collection is just the start for Eurojersey-Petratex partnership
Fabric developer Eurojersey has worked with Portugal-based garment manufacturer Petratex on a new project they are calling Optical Motion.
This has resulted, initially, in a new capsule collection of cycling apparel. For the collection, Petratex and Eurojersey selected different textile structures and positioned them “according to the needs of the body and movement”.
This includes mesh to enhance ventilation, structured surfaces “to optimise aerodynamics”, high-density fabrics for support and stability, and constructions engineered to give high levels of comfort, even over long distances.
The partners have described Optical Motion as “a new idea of performance wear”, in which fabric and garment are “no longer considered as separate elements, but as integral parts of one creative and design process”.
They have said their partnership will lead to a new way of developing products.
They said the capsule cycling apparel collection was the first tangible demonstration of what “a new model of collaboration” can become. They envisage a joint service, capable of supporting brands from defining their performance objectives through to the development of finished products.
