Second Chance Body Armor, Inc., the manufacturer of body armour that has recently been involved in a lawsuit over the sale of defective equipment containing Zylon, has been acquired by Armor Holdings, Inc., a manufacturer and distributor of security products and vehicle armour systems. The total purchase price at auction was $45 million in cash and includes the assumption of certain liabilities.

Second Chance, which is headquartered in Central Lake, Michigan, with a manufacturing facility based in Geneva, Alabama, filed for bankruptcy protection in federal court last year.
