EU begins anti-dumping survey on footwear

12/08/2005
According to the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA), the European Union has begun a sample survey on nine Chinese footwear manufacturers in relation to anti dumping charges. The companies involved are said to large manufacturers that are based in China’s major footwear production hubs in Guangdong, Fujian, Zhejiang and Liaoning.

If any of the charges are proved true, this could deal a hard blow to the industry as Europe is the second largest export market for Chinese shoes accounting for 14.6% of exports.
