Lenzing to increase fibre prices

06/09/2005

Man-made cellulose fibre producer, the Lenzing Group, has announced that it is to increase the prices of its fibres beginning in the fourth quarter, due to rising raw material and energy prices.

Increases of at least 5%, depending on fibre type are envisaged, taking effect on October 1, 2005. These increases apply to fibres for both textile and nonwoven applications.

The company stated that it is taking this action in order to compensate for the considerable increase in raw-material and energy prices which have been severely impacting the fibre businesses for many months and have recently become more pronounced.
