Dorlastan launches Dorlastan Black fibre
German filament yarn producer, Dorlastan Fibres GmbH, has added Dorlastan Black to its product range. This new spandex fibre is said to prevent unacceptable 'grin-through' in dark fabrics, regardless of which other fibres they contain. Separate overdyeing of the spandex fibre is therefore unnecessary where the dyes only stain the non-elastic fibres. Dorlastan Black also prevents grin-through in elastic combination yarns containing dark dope-dyed hard fibres such as polyester, polyamide or acrylics.
This new polyester-based fibre type is available in 40 and 70 denier. It is said to have excellent fastness to light, UV and NOx. And, as it also has high stability to PER and chlorine, it is suitable for use in swimwear and can be dry cleaned without problems. The black shade of the fibre is stable to cleaning with both solvents and aqueous liquors.
Dorlastan’s product range comprises filament yarns made of segmented polyester/polyurea urethane. They can be used as bare or covered yarns in virtually all textile applications and are suitable for use with all natural fibres and man-made fibres such as polyamide, polyester, acrylic and acetate.
