US specialty branded footwear retailer, DSW Inc., has reported net income of $9.3 million and net sales of $276.2 million for the second quarter ended 30 July 2005, compared with net income of $8.9 million on net sales of $234.4 million in the second quarter 2004. Comparable store sales for the second quarter of 2005 increased 3.3% compared with 3.0% for the same period last year.
For the six months ended July 30, 2005, DSW had net income of $16.2 million and net sales of $558.0 million, compared with net income for the comparable period last year of $16.7 million on net sales of $467.0 million.
DSW, headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, offers a wide range of brand names and designer dress, casual and athletic footwear for women and men. It currently operates 187 stores in 32 states and also supplies 234 locations for other retailers.
