David Ramus has been elected president of the Performance Textiles Association (PTA), the trade association representing the industrial textiles sector in the UK. He is managing director of Opas (Southern) Ltd, which supplies a wide range of textiles accessories.

Mr Ramus has been vice president of the PTA for the last two years and takes over the presidency from Ian Parkin, managing director of J R Parkin, who has completed his two years in office.
