Prêt Ả Porter, Paris, celebrated its 100th birthday from 2 – 5 September 2005. 42,938 visitors came to join in the celebrations and to get a sneak preview of the forthcoming fashions, an increase of 1% from the last event, with 57% of those being French and the rest international.
There was a higher turn out from European countries, in particular Denmark, Russia, Great Britain and Belgium, but the clash of dates between PAPP and SIMM meant fewer visitors attended from Spain and Portugal. There was also a decrease in the number of people arriving from Middle East and Asia.
1,054 exhibitors with 1,500 brands participated in the show, with 250 of those being new brands. More than half of these were from international markets.
