Invista has announced that it has purchased Alfa's interest in apparel business Fibers Mexico, based in Monterrey.

The Monterrey facility produces nylon 6 textile fibre, nylon 6,6 textile fibre and spandex used in the apparel and personal care industries. The business in Mexico will be integrated into Invista's global apparel business.

The market segments of Invista’s apparel business include intimate apparel; sports apparel; and swimwear using its global brands such as Lycra, which is one of the most recognised brands in the apparel industry in Mexico.
