US retailer of casual apparel, accessories and footwear, Pacific Sunwear of California, Inc. has appointed Wendy E. Burden as chief operating officer (COO) effective November 8, 2005. Ms. Burden will report to Seth Johnson, the company's CEO, and will be responsible for store operations, real estate and store construction, information systems, and the company's distribution centre.

Ms. Burden most recently worked with Victoria Secret Stores, a division of Limited Brands, Inc., where initially she was vice president of business strategy and operations.
