Burlington Coat Factory Warehouse Corporation has reported its sales and net loss for the first quarter ended August 27, 2005.

Net sales from continuing operations for the three months ended August 27, 2005 were $650.8 million compared with sales of $574.2 million during the corresponding period of last year. Comparative store sales for the quarter increased 8.9%. Total sales for the comparative quarter increased 13.4%.

Net loss for the three months ended August 27, 2005 was $15.9 million compared with a net loss in the comparative three-month period ended August 28, 2004 of $18.7 million.
