Yihua Unifi and Fountain Set team up to develop antimicrobial fabrics

Yihua Unifi, a joint venture between Unifi, Inc. and Sinopec Yizheng Chemical Fibre Company, and Fountain Set (Holdings) Limited, one of the world’s largest circular knitted fabric manufacturers, have partnered to develop a range of circular knit antimicrobial fabrics for the intimate, active wear, casual and swimwear markets.
This family of fabrics from Fountain Set all contain A.M.Y. yarn from Yihua Unifi, which provides permanent antimicrobial and odour control. The first batch of fabric samples will be showcased at the Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics Show, where the two companies will hold a technical seminar. The bacteriostatic and odour controlling properties of A.M.Y. yarns are permanently embedded into the yarn polymer, and protect against microbes that can cause odours, discoloration, mildew formation and apparel degradation for the life of the garment.
