Fifa and Puma reach settlement over all-in-one kit

Fifa and German sportswear brand, Puma, have reached an out of court settlement agreement in their legal dispute over Cameroon’s one piece playing kit. The kit was banned and the Cameroon team fined after it wore it in Tunisia in 2004 during the African Nations Cup in 2004.

A judge later ruled that the Puma kit did not breach any Fifa rules and the sportswear brand subsequently began legal proceedings against Fifa, seeking $2.4 million in compensation.

However, according to the press statement released by Fifa and Puma, in the interests of international football” the two sides have reached an out of court settlement. The two parties have agreed not to disclose the details of this settlement.
