Pakistan’s sporting goods exports increase

Pakistan exported sports goods worth US$ 23.980 million in September 2005 compared with $21.816 million in August 2005, an increase of 9.92% month-on-month but a decline of 5.97% compared with September 2004 ($25.503 million). According to a breakdown of the statistics, released by the Federal Bureau of Statistics, the country exported $ 14.408 million worth of footballs, $1.707 million worth of gloves and other sporting goods worth $7.865 million compared with $13.907 million, $1.335 million and 6.574 million respectively in the previous month. This equated to a 3.6% increase in football exports, a 27.85% growth in gloves and a 19.64% rise in the export of other sporting goods month-on-month.

Total sporting goods exports in the July-September 2005 period stood at $72.250 million compared with $69.467 million in the same period of 2004, an increase of 4.01%.
