Reebok and Wal-Mart settle sole design suit
Reebok International, Ltd. has reached an out-of-court settlement in a law suit in which Reebok claimed that the Wal-Mart had infringed on a sole design patent owned by Reebok. The suit, filed last December, claimed that the three-layer cushion sole design developed by Reebok and patented in 2004 was used by the retailer without permission from Reebok. The suit was due to go to trial in the first week in November, but was settled out-of-court. Terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
