SATRA expands chemical permeation testing capacity

10/11/2005

SATRA has invested more than £50,000 in new equipment to expand its capability to assess the chemical permeation of industrial products, including chemical-resistant gloves and suits.

A new gas chromatograph with a custom-designed gas sampling system has doubled its capacity to test against volatile solvents, while a data logger has automated current equipment used for the analysis of acidic and alkali solutions.

A further investment has also been made in a new automated bespoke system using Ultra Violet (UV) detection. This allows the technology centre to carry out testing on a wide range of non-volatile substances such as drugs, disinfectants and pesticides.
