Toray reports positive half year results

Japan's Toray Industries has reported positive sales increases for the six months ended September 30, 2005. The company’s total consolidated sales totalled ¥678,796 million ($5,996 million) compared with ¥575,721 million in the same period in 2004. This equated to a 17.9% increase. Toray’s Fibres and Textiles division posted an impressive 28.8% increase with sales rising from ¥224,215 million to ¥288,748 million year-on-year.
