Showa Denko to increase production of acetic acid and vinyl acetate

Japan’s Showa Denko has announced plans to expand its production capacity of acetic acid and vinyl acetate. In line with regular maintenance of its Oita Petrochemical Complex next year, the company will increase its annual production capacities from the current 100,000 tons for acetic acid and 120,000 tons for vinyl acetate to 130,000 tons and 175,000 tons, respectively. Both products are used to manufacture synthetic fibres.
