AAFA sets meeting over EU footwear dumping cases

28/11/2005

The American Apparel and Footwear Association (AAFA) plans to hold a series of meetings with footwear executives and a European Commission delegation in Washington on December 7 to discuss the potential impact of the current European dumping investigations against imported footwear on US firms.

The current European Commission investigations alleging that China, Vietnam and India have dumped footwear on the European market are likely to come to a head this December and as a result, US firms could face dumping duties as high as 40-120% on the footwear they are selling into Europe as early as the beginning of the New Year.
