Garment R&D Centre to be built in Beijing

According to a report featured in Asia Pulse, Hong Kong International Development Company (HKID), a subsidiary of the Hong Kong International Group, is set to build the largest fashion R&D centre in Asia. The new centre will be established in Beijing and will cover between 53.3 and 66.7 hectares. Estimated costs for the project are 3.3 billion yuan ($408.4 million) and construction will begin in the first half of 2006. It is hoped that the centre will be completed in 2007.
