Premier of the world’s biggest ski film contest ‘VAST Awards’ at Ispo

The VAST Awards, a ski film contest for pros and amateurs, will be presented for the first time in the International Congress Center Munich (ICM) at the start of ispo winter 06, which will take place from January 29 to February 1, 2006 .
In December 2004, almost 100 films, each 3 to 5 minutes in length, were submitted from around the world and a jury of experts, which included filmmaker Crille Forsberg, free-skier Doug Coombs and the well-known ski photographer Matthias Frederiksson, whittled it down to the best 20 films, spanning 10 categories.
A website has now been set up www.vastawards.com which allows ski and film enthusiasts to watch the nominated films and vote for their favourites.
Winners will be awarded the prizes in the ICM of the New Munich Trade Fair Centre onSunday 29 January 2006 . They will share prize money totaling US$ 50,000.
All 20 nominated films and the VAST Awards Movie, a compilation of the best sequences from all nominated films, are available as a DVD.
